The initial draft of the Standards (version 1.0) was the result of 18 months of collaborative effort led by the NGO members of the CCBA. These draft Standards built upon international best practices for project design combined with input from climate, community and biodiversity experts. The release of this draft in June 2004 marked the beginning of a three-month public comment period.
